Therapy

Therapy

We can look at what happens in difficult moments: what you notice in your body, the meaning you make, the response that follows, and what that response may be trying to protect. Then we practice alternatives that fit your values and your actual life.

I work with trauma and its ongoing effects, emotional regulation and anger, shame and self-understanding, relationship difficulties, and protective responses that keep repeating. You may know what needs to change and still struggle to respond differently.

People across genders are welcome. My experience working with men is a strength, not a restriction. I also welcome justice-involved and formerly incarcerated people without defining anyone by incarceration. Please note that previous clients who received care

Values in Practice

Compassion

Compassion isn’t agreeing with every feeling or excusing every response. It’s understanding the struggle well enough to respond in ways that genuinely help—sometimes with softness, sometimes with honesty, boundaries, rest, repair, or change. We’ll practice building a relationship with yourself where you can recognize what you need, tell yourself the truth, and respond with intention.

Curiosity

Judgment likes to arrive early and call itself certainty. Curiosity asks one more question. I’ll often lead there with you—not to avoid what’s true, but to understand it more accurately. The practice is learning to meet yourself the same way: curious before critical, interested before certain, and willing to ask “What else might be going on here?” before deciding what something means.

Accountability

You can understand why a pattern formed and still decide it can’t keep running your life. I’ll help you hold the full picture: what happened to you, what you learned to do because of it, and what those responses cost you or others over time. Accountability isn’t punishment or blame. It’s taking yourself seriously enough to tell the truth about impact, make repair where needed, and build something healthier on purpose.

What we each bring

Therapy is a relationship we build together. Here’s what I bring to our work and what you’re invited to bring at your own pace.

WHAT I BRING
WHAT YOU’RE INVITED TO BRING

Compassion

Care for your experiences and the ways you’ve learned to protect yourself.

Your experiences

Your experiences—as much as you feel ready to share, at your own pace.

Curiosity

Questions, reflection, and room for meanings we haven’t found yet.

Your language

Your language: the words, images, humor, and uncertainty that make sense to you.

Accountability

Honest feedback, transparency, and responsibility for my part in our work.

Your honesty

Your honesty, including when something doesn’t fit, feels difficult, or isn’t helping.

You don’t need polished answers.

We can begin with what you know, what you’re unsure of, and what feels hard to say. Honesty can include “I’m not ready to talk about that.” Accountability includes being able to question me, too.

WHAT YOU’RE INVITED TO BRING

My work is trauma informed and draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT-informed skills, schema-informed work, experiential learning, and Jungian ideas where relevant. Together, we explore what is useful for you based on what feels best to meet your needs.

$55 per person, per session

Community partnerships & reentry support

I welcome conversations with organizations serving justice-involved and formerly incarcerated people.

My background includes prison-based therapy, trauma-focused program development, and extensive group facilitation. I’m interested in partnerships that make meaningful support more accessible as people navigate reentry, relationships, and life beyond incarceration.

Potential collaborations include:

  • Therapy referrals and coordinated access to care.

  • Organization-sponsored individual or group therapy.

  • Workshops on emotional regulation, communication, and navigating recurring patterns.

  • Curriculum development and staff learning tailored to your community.

We can discuss your organization’s needs, funding, and a scope that fits. Partnership services are quoted separately from individual and group therapy fees.
